In 2009, Timm Slade was hired as Section VI’s first full-time Executive Director. He began in this position during difficult financial times. In seeking a mutually beneficial outcome, he quickly built strong relationships with local vendors focused on services related to athletics or other interrelated areas, which then led to forming corporate partnerships. These partnerships allowed for the expansion of financial support to Section VI athletes who advance to state championships. This is one example of the many veins within Section VI that Timm has grown and improved upon during his years of service.
Timm built upon the foundation set by his predecessors by leading with his visions to not only sustain Section VI, but to evolve with the ever-changing field of athletics and affecting economic variables to ensure success in the years to come.
