Contact Jesse Hamms Director of Athletics 716-854-2490 - School 716-984-1247 - Cell hamms@bascs.org Winter Basketball: (5/10/12) Due to a team recently dropping out, the Cattaraugus County Basketball Officials Board #121 is looking for a boys varsity basketball team to fill the large school division of the annual IAABO Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament held at St. Bonaventure University during the week of Christmas break 12/26 - 12/30 (exact dates have not been selected as of yet). The other teams in the tournament are: Olean, Bradford (PA) and Warren (PA). This tournament has a strong tradition and is played at a Division I college level facility. This nationwide program which was mandated in NY for five years from 2004-2009 by NYSPHSAA has continued to grow beyond belief. New Mexico and Oklahoma now utilize the program statewide for their student athletes and four other states are currently setting up the LOA framework. We continue to see student athletes involved in lifestyle behaviors of concern and this program can help any school or community educate athletes coaches and parents to impact these problems. Web-Based Coaching Certification The NYSPHSAA has signed an agreement with SUNY Cortland to support a web-based coaching certification program. The Cortland Center for Educational Exchange will host the course on its website, providing the technical support, instructional services and administrative support. The Association will provide administrative support in the form of payroll service and dissemination of recommended textbooks. The Association and Cortland will collaborate in the appointment of instructors, curriculum development and annual curriculum review. SUNY Cortland Program Registration First Aid / CPR Courses
